An Air India Express flight from Dammam to New Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad after a cabin crew member discovered a tissue paper inside the aircraft’s lavatory with the word “B*MB” written on it.

The crew immediately alerted the pilot, who contacted Air Traffic Control and requested an emergency diversion to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad.

After landing, the aircraft was moved to an isolated bay away from the main terminal. Security personnel and b*mb disposal teams surrounded the aircraft and began standard security procedures.

All 32 passengers were safely evacuated and transferred to Terminal 2. No injuries were reported.

Authorities carried out a thorough search of the aircraft, including the cabin, seats and cargo hold. No explosives or suspicious objects were found, and the aircraft was subsequently cleared by airport authorities.

Security agencies have launched an investigation to determine who placed the note inside the lavatory and whether it was intended as a hoax.

Air India Express said the flight was diverted as a precaution after the crew was notified of a specific b*mb threat. The government-appointed B*mb Threat Assessment Committee was alerted immediately, and all required security procedures were initiated.

Fortunately, the aircraft landed safely and everyone onboard was evacuated without injury.
