Breaking News: K2 Airways Cargo Boeing 737 Reported Overdue Near Karachi
Authorities in Pakistan have launched a search operation after K2 Airways Cargo Flight KTA1732, a Boeing 737-400 freighter registered AP-BOI, failed to arrive in Karachi as scheduled on July 7.
The cargo flight was operating from Sharjah to Karachi when contact with the aircraft was lost. Preliminary ADS-B flight tracking data indicates the aircraft experienced a significant loss of altitude, briefly climbed again, and then entered a second rapid descent before transmissions stopped.
The final recorded position was received at 16:21 UTC, showing the aircraft at approximately 1,100 feet above mean sea level with a reported vertical speed of -22,400 feet per minute. The circumstances surrounding the disappearance remain unclear, and authorities are working to locate the aircraft.
AP-BOI is a Boeing 737-4M0(BDSF) freighter that entered service with K2 Airways in 2024. Originally delivered to Aeroflot in 1999 as a passenger aircraft, it later flew for Garuda Indonesia before being converted into a freighter in 2012. It subsequently operated with TNT Airways and ASL Airlines before joining K2 Airways.
This is a developing story, and more information will be shared as official updates become available.
