Air India is continuing its fleet transformation by putting six Airbus A319 aircraft up for sale as part of its long-term modernization strategy.

The airline has appointed UK-based Skytech-AIC to manage the sale of the six narrowbody jets, which were built between 2003 and 2006. The aircraft are available for immediate sale and will be offered without their CFM56-5 engines.

Skytech-AIC previously handled the successful sale of Air India’s iconic Boeing 747-400 fleet, which concluded in 2025. The company says it is pleased to once again partner with India’s flag carrier for another major fleet transition.

The Airbus A319s have served Air India for years on domestic and short-haul international routes. Their retirement marks another step in the airline’s transformation under the Tata Group, which is replacing older aircraft with more fuel-efficient Airbus A320neo family jets and other next-generation aircraft.

The sale reflects Air India’s broader strategy to streamline operations, modernize its fleet, improve fuel efficiency, and enhance the passenger experience as it continues one of the aviation industry’s largest fleet renewal programs.
