The United States has issued a global travel advisory urging American citizens to remain vigilant as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate following the collapse of the ceasefire between the US and Iran.

The US Department of State has advised Americans worldwide, particularly those in the Middle East, to exercise increased caution and closely monitor local news and security updates. Travelers have also been urged to follow guidance issued by the nearest US embassy or consulate.

The advisory warns that the deteriorating security situation could lead to widespread travel disruptions, including flight cancellations, delays, and temporary airspace closures. It also cautions that US diplomatic facilities, both within and outside the Middle East, could face security threats. According to the department, groups supportive of Iran may target American interests, diplomatic missions, or locations associated with the United States across the globe.

The renewed warning comes after the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran broke down following a fresh exchange of military strikes. The United States resumed airstrikes against Iranian targets after two American service members were killed in an attack on the Al-Azraq military base in Jordan, an incident the US has blamed on Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
