BREAKING: 12 Killed After Skydiving Plane Crashes Near Butler, Missouri
A tragic plane crash near Butler Memorial Airport in Missouri has claimed the lives of all 12 people on board Sunday morning.
The Aircraft was Pacific Aerospace 750XL with Registration N221BN owned by SKYHI AERO LLC.
According to authorities, the aircraft departed from Butler Memorial Airport shortly before 11:30 a.m. local time on Sunday 14 June 2026 but turned back for an unknown reason moments after takeoff. The plane then crashed near Business 49 Highway, south of the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Sources say the victims include 11 skydivers and the pilot. Emergency responders initially searched the area to determine whether any skydivers had exited the aircraft before the crash, but officials later confirmed that all 12 occupants had perished.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Bates County Sheriff’s Office, Butler Police Department, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are on scene investigating the cause of the disaster.
Business 49 Highway near Butler Memorial Airport remains closed in both directions as investigators work through the wreckage, a process expected to continue for several days.
