A tragic incident aboard a Jet2 flight has ended in heartbreak after a passenger who suffered a medical emergency following a disturbance on board has died.
Callum Kerr, a father from Warrington, United Kingdom, passed away days after being rushed to hospital in critical condition following the arrival of a Jet2 flight from Larnaca, Cyprus, to Manchester Airport during the early hours of June 22, 2026.
According to multiple U.K. media reports, Kerr had been traveling with his girlfriend when an argument reportedly broke out during the flight. Witnesses claimed cabin crew separated the pair by moving his girlfriend to another seat. As the flight continued, Kerr allegedly became increasingly disruptive, reportedly headbutting another passenger and threatening others on board.
Concerned passengers intervened and restrained Kerr until the aircraft landed safely at Manchester Airport at approximately 2:25 a.m. local time.
Upon arrival, Greater Manchester Police officers boarded the aircraft in response to reports of an aggressive passenger. However, they found Kerr unconscious and not breathing. Officers immediately began CPR while a defibrillator was requested before paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Police initially confirmed that Kerr was in a stable but critical condition while an investigation was launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including reports of aggressive behavior toward passengers and crew.
In the days that followed, Kerr’s family confirmed the heartbreaking news that he had died.
Friends and loved ones have since flooded social media with emotional tributes, remembering him as a devoted father and friend. One tribute read, “Can’t believe I’m writing this, RIP Callum Kerr,” while another recalled their final meeting at the gym, saying, “You gave me the most sincere hug and said, ‘Love ya bro and see ya soon.’ Till we meet again, my brother.”
Jet2 previously confirmed that one passenger had been taken to hospital following the flight. Manchester Airport referred inquiries to Greater Manchester Police and the airline, while authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The exact cause of Kerr’s death has not yet been officially released.
