Lufthansa Boeing 787 Calls Out Sick, Refuses to Fly Today
On Thursday, June 4th, a Lufthansa Boeing 787 Dreamliner unexpectedly called in sick after suffering a sudden case of “weak knees” at the airport gate.
Witnesses said the aircraft appeared exhausted before dramatically lowering its nose onto the tarmac and declaring itself unfit for duty. Ground crews rushed to assist while the jet reportedly requested a blanket, a thermometer, and several days of paid sick leave.
“I’ve flown thousands of miles this month,” the aircraft allegedly told maintenance crews. “I think my nose gear needs a mental health day.”
Engineers diagnosed the problem. Nearby aircraft offered words of encouragement, although one older cargo jet was overheard saying, “Back in my day, we didn’t call in sick.”
The Dreamliner is expected to make a full recovery after maintenance, rest, and a brief break from crossing oceans. Until then, Lufthansa’s newest employee remains grounded and under doctor’s orders: absolutely no flying today.
