A disturbing discovery was made at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA2) on Thursday morning after the body of an unidentified man was found inside the wheel well of an aircraft arriving from Tokyo, Japan.

The aircraft landed at around 6:30 a.m., and about 25 minutes later, engineering personnel opened the wheel well and detected a foul smell. An inspection of the tyre storage area on the right side of the aircraft led to the discovery of the man, who was found lying face down.

Police believe he had been dead for more than 72 hours. The victim is estimated to be between 17 and 25 years old.

He was wearing a white hoodie featuring a dragon image on the back and the word “Oakley” on the front, light blue jeans, a brown leather belt, socks and black sports shoes.

No identification documents were found, and police reported no visible injuries.

Forensic personnel were deployed to the aircraft, while the body was taken to Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Authorities are now working to establish the man’s identity and determine how he entered the aircraft’s wheel well and the cause of death.

Police have urged the public not to speculate while the investigation continues.
