A Salute to Service, Courage, and Sacrifice.

Today, we pause to honor the life of Retired Lt. Col. Miles Middleton, one of the eight souls lost in the tragic B-52 Stratofortress crash at Edwards Air Force Base.

A decorated test pilot, respected leader, and former commander of the 419th Flight Test Squadron, Lt. Col. Middleton dedicated his life to advancing aviation and serving his nation. At just 50 years old, his journey ended far too soon while continuing to contribute to the aerospace community he loved.

This heartbreaking accident claimed the lives of military personnel, government employees, and Boeing contractors who were aboard the aircraft during a test flight. Behind every name is a family forever changed, dreams left unfinished, and a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Pam, her children, and all the families, friends, colleagues, and fellow aviators grieving this immense loss. The aviation community stands united in mourning and remembrance.

As we remember Lt. Col. Middleton and the entire crew, we also recognize the risks undertaken every day by those who test, fly, maintain, and advance the aircraft that protect and serve nations around the world.

Blue skies and tailwinds, Lt. Col. Middleton.

May you and your fellow crew members rest in peace. Your service, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
