History was made in Palm Beach as the first aircraft officially arrived under the airport’s new name: President Donald J. Trump International Airport.
Just after 5:00 a.m., “Trump Force One” became the first passenger aircraft to land at the newly renamed airport, carrying Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and several state and local officials who participated in the renaming ceremony.
Speaking after landing, Eric Trump called it a “special moment” and reflected on decades of family travel through the airport.
“There’s probably no plane in the world that’s more fitting for this airport now,” Eric Trump said aboard the iconic Boeing 757.
Eric also recalled first flying into Palm Beach as an infant in 1984, saying his family had traveled through the airport almost every weekend after Donald Trump purchased Mar-a-Lago. He estimated that his father has landed there “about 10,000 times.”
The airport’s arrivals board has already begun displaying flights under the new name, with aircraft from Newark and Atlanta among the first scheduled arrivals. However, the airport’s official website still temporarily displays its former name, Palm Beach International Airport, during the transition.
The famous “Trump Force One” Boeing 757 has been part of the Trump family since 2011, when Donald Trump purchased it from the estate of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. The aircraft later underwent a major refurbishment and repainting during Trump’s first presidential term and has since become a recognizable symbol of his political campaigns and business travel.
