Mid-Air Chaos! easyJet Flight Forced Back to Tenerife After Mass Passenger Brawl

An easyJet flight from Tenerife, Spain to Liverpool, UK (EZY3352) was forced to make an emergency return shortly after takeoff when a violent mid-air brawl involving around 10 passengers erupted onboard.

About 30 minutes into the flight, the captain decided to turn back after determining the disturbance posed a serious risk to the safety of everyone onboard. Air traffic controllers prioritized the aircraft’s return while coordinating with police at Tenerife South Airport.

Upon landing, Spanish police boarded the aircraft and removed the disruptive passengers. The flight, carrying 186 passengers, later continued its journey to Liverpool after the situation was brought under control. Reports indicate those involved were British nationals, and no arrests were made.

easyJet condemned the disruptive behavior, emphasizing that passenger and crew safety is always its highest priority and that its crews are trained to respond swiftly to onboard incidents.

The incident comes amid growing concerns over unruly passenger behavior, with reports of in-flight violence, intoxication, and abuse rising sharply in recent years. The UK government is also considering new measures that could allow airlines to share information on disruptive passengers, potentially leading to repeat offenders being banned from flying.
