Bombardier’s flagship Global 8000 business jet has achieved its first official speed record, completing a nonstop transatlantic flight from Montreal, Canada, to Nice, France in just over six hours on June 5, 2026. The mission carried passengers to the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix and demonstrated the aircraft’s remarkable performance capabilities.
The Global 8000 is currently recognized as the world’s fastest business jet, capable of reaching speeds up to Mach 0.95 and flying up to 8,000 nautical miles without refueling. The aircraft is also regarded as the fastest civilian aircraft since Concorde, combining ultra-long-range capability with luxury and advanced technology.
Beyond speed, the jet features four spacious living areas, a full-size galley, advanced connectivity, and one of the lowest cabin altitudes in business aviation, helping passengers arrive more refreshed after long-haul flights. Its advanced wing design also allows access to airports that many competing business jets cannot use.
As business aviation continues pushing the boundaries of performance, the Global 8000 is proving that the race for faster, farther, and more luxurious travel is far from over.
