An Air India Boeing 787-9 operating flight AI2030 from Frankfurt to Delhi made an emergency landing at Jaipur International Airport on October 14 after the pilot issued a hijacking alert, triggering an immediate security response.
The aircraft reportedly squawked transponder code 7500, the internationally recognised code for hijacking or unlawful interference, prompting air traffic control to divert the flight to Jaipur.
Following the safe landing, the aircraft was moved to an isolated bay for security checks. Police sources said the emergency landing followed a reported bomb threat, while aviation authorities began investigating the incident.
All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated and underwent security checks. Air India later confirmed that security agencies had cleared the aircraft and crew, and passengers had reboarded to continue their journey to Delhi.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances behind the alert and the reported bomb threat.
