Great news for travelers in Silicon Valley and Central Texas! Delta Air Lines has announced a new daily nonstop route connecting San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), beginning October 6, 2026.
The new service will be operated by an Airbus A319 and will provide travelers with a convenient, direct connection between two of America’s fastest-growing technology and innovation hubs. The route is available for booking now and will increase Delta’s daily departures from San José to 23 flights.
One of the biggest highlights of the new route is that Delta will offer the only premium seating option on nonstop flights between San José and Austin, providing added comfort for both business and leisure travelers.
The new service reflects growing demand between Northern California and Central Texas, two regions known for their thriving technology sectors, startup ecosystems, world-class universities, and vibrant cultural scenes. Whether travelers are heading to Austin for business meetings, live music festivals, college football games, family visits, or its renowned food culture, the nonstop connection will make travel significantly easier.
San José city officials welcomed the announcement, emphasizing the strong economic and cultural ties between Silicon Valley and Austin. Leaders noted that the route will support collaboration between businesses, improve mobility for skilled professionals, boost tourism, and strengthen connections between the two innovation-driven regions.
SJC Director of Aviation Mookie Patel described Austin as one of the airport’s most requested destinations and praised Delta’s continued investment in the San José market. The new route is expected to provide travelers with more flexibility, convenience, and travel options while supporting regional economic growth.
Delta continues to strengthen its presence at San José Mineta International Airport, where it already offers nonstop service to Atlanta, Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Salt Lake City, and Seattle.
