Delta Air Lines is set to acquire spaces once operated by Spirit at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

The Atlanta-based airline offered $12 million to take over gates C4 and C6, as well as Spirit’s ticketing lobby and support space, a Wednesday federal bankruptcy court filing shows.

Any objections are due to the court by July 1, while a hearing to make a final decision is scheduled for July 8.

According to the filing, Spirit reached out to 10 parties, including Delta, about the sale. Delta and another party, who has not been identified, offered bids, with Delta coming out on top.

The move comes after Spirit shut down on May 2, leaving employees and travelers stranded. Several airlines, including Delta, stepped in to offer discounted fares as people tried to get home.

The airline cited a sharp rise in oil prices and mounting financial pressures for the sudden closure, saying it was unable to secure additional funding despite efforts to restructure and stabilize the business.
