A medical plane crash killed four people near Capitan and sparked the Seven Cabins Fire, which has now grown to more than 2,600 acres.
Officials identified the victims as pilots Keelan Clark and Ali Kawsara and Trans Aero Med-Evac flight nurses Sarah Clark and Jamie Novick.
Cloudcroft Fire Department confirmed Sarah Clark was the daughter of Otero County Emergency Manager Matt Clark.
The crew was headed from Roswell to Sierra Blanca Regional Airport for a medical transport when the plane crashed.
Their employers, Trans Aero Medevac and Generation Jets, released a joint statement about the people they lost.
“Those they lost more than just coworkers.. they were family, caregivers, aviators and friends who dedicated their lives to serving others,” the companies said.
The companies also thanked the community for its support.
The crash sparked a wildfire. Video from Chopper 4 showed the fire on Thursday.
New estimates from the National Interagency Fire Center put the Seven Cabins Fire at more than 2,600 acres.
Crews also issued evacuation orders for people on the north side of Capitan between Gap Road and Boy Scout. Officials said people in that area need to leave now.
Trans Aero Medeva issued the following statement Saturday:
“We would like to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming outpouring of support shown throughout today’s procession. The compassion, prayers, and kindness extended to our team and community have been deeply felt.
