Pilot Suffers Minor Injuries After Plane Overturns On Runway At Cape Cod Airport, Hyannis, MA

A reported plane crash brought Hyannis police and fire departments to Cape Cod Gateway Airport in Hyannis Thursday afternoon.

The crash occurred at 3:32 p.m. on the south side of runway 24, according to Barnstable Police Department.

A preliminary investigation showed the crash occurred as the private plane was landing. There was one person on the plane at the time of the crash. The person was evaluated by Hyannis Fire Department.

The crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board, according to the police statement.

Police and fire officials responded to Cape Cod Gateway Airport in Hyannis Thursday afternoon for a reported plane crash. An airplane could be seen upside down on its roof.

The small, silver plane could be seen flat on its roof in front of a row of solar panels on airport property around 4 p.m.

The airport is at 480 Barnstable Road in Hyannis.
