Warning Light in the Climb: Lufthansa A320neo Returns to Málaga Over Cargo Door Alert

On Feb 18th 2026, a Lufthansa Airbus A320-200N, registration D-AINU, returned to Málaga shortly after departure following a cargo door warning during climb.

Flight LH-1833 had departed runway 30 in Málaga bound for Munich when the crew stopped the climb at 6,000 feet after receiving an indication related to a cargo door. As a precaution, the pilots elected to discontinue the departure and return to the airport.

The aircraft landed safely on runway 31 approximately 35 minutes after takeoff. There were no reports of injuries or further complications during the return.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 90 minutes while ground crews inspected the door. According to information received by The Aviation Herald, the cargo door was checked and found to be closed.

Following the inspection, the A320neo departed again and proceeded to Munich, arriving with a delay of approximately two hours.

Cargo door indications are treated with caution, as proper sealing and locking are critical to maintaining cabin pressurization and structural integrity. In this case, the precautionary return allowed maintenance personnel to verify the aircraft’s status before it resumed its journey.
