On Feb 18th 2026, an easyJet Airbus A320-200, registration G-EZPE, diverted to Manchester shortly after departure from Liverpool following reports of engine vibrations.
Flight U2-3375 had taken off from runway 09 in Liverpool bound for Fuerteventura when the crew stopped the climb at 4,000 feet after detecting vibrations from the left-hand CFM International CFM56 engine. As a precaution, the aircraft entered holding patterns while the crew assessed the situation and coordinated with air traffic control.
The decision was made to divert to Manchester, where the A320 landed safely on runway 05R approximately 40 minutes after departure.
A replacement A320-200, registration G-EZPD, was dispatched to operate the service and later reached Fuerteventura with a delay of about 3 hours and 45 minutes.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Manchester for approximately 25.5 hours for inspection and maintenance before positioning back to Liverpool. As of about 4.5 hours after its return to Liverpool, the aircraft remained out of service pending further checks.
Engine vibration indications are closely monitored parameters in modern jet aircraft, as abnormal readings can signal imbalance, component wear, or other mechanical irregularities. In such cases, precautionary diversions allow maintenance teams to thoroughly assess the engine before the aircraft resumes commercial service.
