JetBlue A320 Diverts to Daytona Beach After Engine Oil Leak Report

Jan 4th 2026 : A JetBlue Airways flight operating as B6668 from West Palm Beach to Westchester County was forced to divert on January 4, 2026, after the flight crew reported an engine-related issue while en route.

The aircraft, an Airbus A320-200 registered N570JB, was cruising at flight level 350 approximately 150 nautical miles east-northeast of Daytona Beach, Florida, when the crew detected an oil leak affecting the right-hand engine, a V2527. As a precaution, the decision was made to divert to Daytona Beach International Airport.

The aircraft descended and landed safely on runway 25R at Daytona Beach about 30 minutes later. Emergency services were not reported to have been required, and no injuries occurred during the landing.

To accommodate passengers, JetBlue arranged a replacement aircraft, another Airbus A320-200 registered N594JB, which continued the journey to Westchester County. The substitute flight arrived with a delay of approximately six and a half hours.

As of around 14 hours after the diversion, the affected aircraft remains on the ground in Daytona Beach while maintenance teams conduct inspections and address the reported engine issue.

JetBlue stated that the diversion was carried out in accordance with standard safety procedures, emphasizing that passenger and crew safety remained the top priority.
