A routine British Airways flight from Hyderabad, India, to London Heathrow turned into an extraordinary medical ordeal after all three pilots operating the long-haul service developed severe food poisoning while the aircraft was en route.
The flight was staffed with three pilots, as is standard on long-haul operations, allowing one pilot to rest while the other two remain at the controls. However, during the journey, all three flight crew members reportedly began suffering from the same foodborne illness, creating a highly unusual situation in the cockpit.
According to multiple reports, one of the pilots became critically ill during the flight, requiring oxygen while still airborne. After the aircraft landed safely at London Heathrow, the pilot was rushed to a hospital, where he reportedly underwent emergency surgery lasting around 12 hours.
